February Pelagic Trip

February 11th, 7:30 AM to noon, Marina del Rey. Join us for a fun and family-friendly Pelagic! In addition to some exciting pelagic birds, we might see dolphins, sea lions, and even whales. This year we are going with a bigger boat to accommodate more people, and a longer trip so we can go farther and hopefully see more. The cost will be $30 per person paid in advance (which is still less than the average $35 for a 2 hour whale watch trip). We will have renowned birder Bernardo Alps as well as some of our own excellent field trip leaders on board to help call out species and make sure everyone has a great time.

    If you come the day of the trip without a reservation, you may be turned away. There are no refunds, but substitutions are permitted.

    Day of information:

    The New Del Mar will be leaving from Dock 52 at Marina del Rey 13552 Fiji Way, MdR, CA 90292. Please be at the dock at 7:15 AM and be ready to go.

    There is plenty of parking at Dock 52, but please carpool if possible. The ship’s galley will be open and serving food, snacks, water, and hot drinks. You are permitted to bring your own snacks and drinks if desired. Ice Chests, Coolers, Alcoholic Beverages and Marijuana in any form MAY NOT BE BROUGHT ABOARD.

    Remember that weather can be variable and dress accordingly. Bring warm layers as well as a sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Wear sturdy, rubber-soled shoes. If you are prone to motion sickness, consider bringing ginger chews or over the counter remedies.
