Join leaders Alex Coffey and Harvey Villarica at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve as we look for a variety of shorebirds. We can expect to see waders, terns, waterfowl and others, including possible Reddish Egret and Ridgway's Rail. This ecological reserve is one of very few significant coastal wetlands extant in Los Angeles and Orange Counties and offers excellent birding opportunities throughout the year.
Bring a spotting scope if you have one. While some birds will be close in, others can be more distant.
Parking is limited so we'll get an early start to ensure spaces are available. There is a good amount of walking on this trip, but it is largely flat and paved.
Participant limit: 30 people max., determined by lottery.
Trip details such as meeting location will be emailed to the randomly chosen participants 2-3 days before the trip.
